In 1926 the roof was removed and the present third and fourth floors were added. The district court moved to the Hugo L. Black United States Courthouse in 1987. Extensive renovations were made in 2012-13. It is in use now for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. US Post Office and Federal Buidling, on corner of 5th Ave and 19th St built with AL and GA white marble, costing 2 1/2 million dollars, is considered one of the outstanding buildings in the entire south.
