No. K-2. No. 78-H1067. On October 9, 1914 the property on the corner of Church &amp; Possell (later renamed Monument) was purchased by the federal government for $5000. On July 3, 1930 Congress passed a bill for the construction of federal buildings and $80,000 was allocated for construction of a post office in Kissimmee, FL. Construction started on March 27, 1930 and ended on February 25, 1932. The post office was dedicated on February 22, 1932 (Washington's birthday) and remained a post office until a new one was built in 1980 on Oak Street. This building was sold to Alan Helman in 1980 and to Sam Ackley in 1989.
