Prior to this courthouse the county had one which was built in 1892 and demolished in 1957. This county courthouse held the trial of the notorious murderer, Ted Bundy, during which he carved his name into the table where he was sitting. This old county courthouse is now the Historical Society of Central Florida and the Orange County Regional History Center.
