Description

Post Card Collection. One post card featuring the Government and Post Office Building in Jacksonville, Florida. It was known as the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse. Constructed of Tennessee marble, it survived the 1901 Jacksonville fire that destroyed 146 blocks and 2,368 buildings; however most of the court records were lost. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida met here until 1933.
