Post Card of the US Post Office, Birmingham, AL. No. 2. No. 27112N. Built from 1918 to 1921. James A. Wetmore, Acting Architect. Construction began in 1918 after being delayed by WWI. The US District Court moved here from the 2nd Ave building when the original two story building was completed in 1921. Message on back: Birmingham Ala. Dec. 12, 1923. The sun showed a little today but will try it further South. Will leave on Sun. R. Bd 9 in the morning and travel the 260 mi. to Pensacola Fla. Send my mail there if will get there by Wed. Dec. 19. Will let you know where next stop will be. yours. J. Eft. To Mr. Geo. Eft. El Paso, Ill. Postmarked Dec. 12, 1923 with a one cent stamp.
