Description

Post Card of the Government Building in Huntsville, Ala. No. 20101. Built 1888-1890. Original name was U.S. Post Office and Federal Court House. Courtroom and related personnel were on the 2nd floor. Jury rooms on the 3rd. Ceased to be a court facility in 1936 but was used by various lodges from 1947-1954. Razed in 1954. Now a city parking lot. Post marked Feb. 3, 1909. Message on back: Dear Nellie. Your letter received. What has become of my 10 pages I wrote the day before the little boy. I hope it is not lost as it was important. I wish you all had that. I can say of myself I thought that was the reason I did not get a letter. I wrote in on the 2. Have you not received it? I will give the little one his letter when he come from school. He had given up hope of getting it. You have my sympathy with the sick ones. I will write in a day or 2. With Love John.
