Description

Two post cards of the U.S. Post Office and Court House in Huntsville, Ala. No. H-6. Built in 1936 and known as the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse located at 101 Holmes Avenue. Louis A. Simon was the supervising architect. The courtroom on the 2nd floor includes a Xavier Gonzalez, 1937 WPA mural of five figures engaged in art, industry, agriculture, and family activities. Still in use. It was entered on the National Register of Historic Places on Sept. 22, 1980. No. OB-H2672. Message on back: Having a nice visit here. Came Oct. 5. Leave Thursday. Bess & J.A. To: Mrs. Grace Moore & family. Myrtle Ave. Dover, N.J. Postmarked Oct. 15, 1952 with a three cent stamp.
